Hi-Tech Forensic Facilities in the Emerging
Forensic Fields:

Examine hi-tech crime exhibits in respect of DNA analysis, digital forensics, ballistics,chemistry, toxicology, forensic psychology, Forensic documents and cyber forensics. |

Provide necessary support in respect of
training and awareness programs to police, medico-legal experts and judiciary.
Assist the Investigating Officers in incidence responses in respect of hi-tech
crimes.

These new hi-tech facilities in the emerging
forensic fields were started in the CFSL Chandigarh under plan and non-plan
R&D activities as a pilot projects. As these facilities are serving the
forensic needs of the crime investigating agencies and attracting to a large
number of request leading to pendency or denial of accepting their requests, it
was proposed to undertake the task of acquiring / hiring building for setting
up the these hi-tech facilities in the emerging forensic fields at CFSL
Chandigarh as full-fledged Forensic Divisions.

Depending upon the availability of land, the
DFS will go for land acquisition/ hiring of rental accommodation.

After the plan period, the scheme will be
reviewed and will then be taken under non-plan scheme as per need.

speaker identification, audio-video tape authentication, image processing,
computer forensics etc.), Ballistics, Chemistry, Toxicology, forensic psychology, forensic
documents examination and cyber forensics.
